Improve On-Time Shipments with OSHQ

If you want to improve on-time and completed shipments to your customers, Sales Order Shortage Inquiry (OSHQ) may be the tool for you! You specify a shipment cutoff date to compute demand and that is then compared to your total inventory balance (on hand plus floor stock).

Shortages are quickly identified to allow you to take the appropriate corrective action. As in all PowerShift reports and inquiries, sort and selection options tailor and filter the results to your requirements.

From the summary display, you can drill to supply details (i.e., when is the item due from the vendor or where in production a manufacturing order is). If you can't expedite supply orders to meet the expected ship date, you can drill to the affected sales orders and make decisions about who will get available stock and adjust ship dates as needed.

You have a lot more options with the customer if they know their order is going to be late as soon as you know it! Changing the date might be not be an issue for them (phew!), but if it is, you may be able to mitigate the impact. Possible options:

Don't leave at the end of the day if there's a past due sales order! Ship the order or adjust the date to when it can ship. Keep your customer in the loop and work together to choose the best option if the order won't ship as scheduled.

Sales Order Shortage Inquiry is available in the latest PowerShift release (4.10.023). If you're not already on our calendar to upgrade, contact the Qantel Helpdesk or call us at 630.300.6999.
