Webinars: A Great Use of Contracted Support
Be it a high-level overview or a feature-specific presentation or a detailed analysis of a particular set of program options, a webinar can help you get more out of PowerShift. Our professional consultants are familiar with your company and implementation so we can focus webinars on the benefits specific features can provide. Whenever possible, we use your “play system” to ensure that data is relevant and representative of your daily operations.
Don’t think webinars are just for newbies! We can develop webinars about any feature or program for any level user. If something piques your interest, let us know and we’ll develop a webinar for you and your staff.
You have access to all of PowerShift’s feature-rich applications so why not schedule a webinar to test drive one? And as the product evolves, a webinar can help you explore how a feature or expanded options might yield improvement in your operation.
Webinars consume one hour of support agreement time. We think this is an excellent use of contracted support – and we think you will, too!
Brief outlines of some recent webinars follow. If you don't see what you're looking for, not to worry! We look forward to developing more webinars as you request them. Contact the Qantel Helpdesk or call us at 630.300.6999 for more information.
PowerShift Navigation
As the user interface is improved, you’ll want to brush up on navigating PowerShift most efficiently. We’ll also discuss using shortcuts for relative dates, wildcards in report & inquiry options, setting up favorites, and other global system features that can be huge time-savers.
Automating GL Registers
Scheduling GL registers to run automatically ensures that they are run in a timely manner, frees up employees to verify results and track down errors, and ensures consistency. Let us show you how to use the job scheduler to run different registers at different frequencies.
Exporting & Importing Data
You can output PowerShift data in a variety of formats (CSV, Excel worksheet, XML) supported by various external applications. And PowerShift's ability to import data from XML files opens the door to unlimited flexibility in how you choose to update the PowerShift database.
Creating & Automating Reports
A single PowerShift report can be saved with multiple sets of options. We’ll walk through examples of reports that lend themselves to different options settings for different recipients – and how to schedule them to automatically run at different intervals (e.g., daily v. weekly).
Shipping Manifest Interface
If you use UPS or FedEx to ship your products, you can use PowerShift's manifest interface to update shipments with tracking numbers, freight dollars and other data. If you invoice your customer for freight, you can optionally include an additional percentage or a fixed amount to carrier charges. Learn how the shipping manifest interface streamlines processes and reduces entry errors.
Manufacturer Compliance
If you include “off the shelf” purchased items in your products, you might be interested to know that you can enter manufacturer information to help you source the items from multiple distribution channels. Information tracked includes compliance information, country of origin, bar codes, and review cycle/approval status.
Warehouse Mapping
Inventory accuracy has a significant impact on your bottom line. Learn how implementing PowerShift’s warehouse mapping feature can lead to improved inventory control.
Material Review Board Processing
This webinar covers material review board processing for all types of receipts (e.g., manufacturing orders, transfers, POs) and the process for moving on hand inventory into MRB. The effect of different dispositions on each type of reject is also covered.
Configured Products
For assemble-to-order shops, configured product bills of material can eliminate the overhead of creating separate bills of material for every possible combination of attributes (e.g., colors, sizes, materials). While the ability to configure products during customer order entry has long been a part of Qantel business applications, PowerShift dramatically simplifies the maintenance required when a customer changes selected options after an order has been entered.
Tool Tracking
PowerShift’s tool crib programs ensure your tooling inventory is production-ready. This webinar covers setting up tool crib items, tracking useful life, inquiries and reports that alert you of upcoming tooling requirements.
Picking Options
PowerShift is all about flexibility, and the variety of picking methods it offers is no exception. We’ll review picking methods and the impact of related system options to determine how processes can be improved in your environment.
AR Past Due Notices
Automating AR past due notices is a simple step toward more timely receivables collection! We’ll discuss how to configure the notice itself (i.e., layout and information included) and the options that determine how and when the first and follow up late notices are sent.
Document Message Maintenance
While you probably know that you can use Document Message Maintenance (TRST) to set up generic text messages to print on sales orders and other documents, the program is far more powerful than you might realize! Come to this webinar and learn how to use TRST to customize your OE and ISQ displays – and lots more!
